Megalexis has invested in the latest computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, which enable accurate word count, analysis and reporting for each assignment, project, client, specialty and language combination. Word count reports include total or partial matches recorded in your translation memories (previously translated text), as well as repetitive text and terminology matches from your terminology databases.

If you are an existing customer, you can use our web portal, email, or our secure FTP site.

If you don’t have an account yet, simply go to our Get a Quote Form and submit your request. A customer service representative will communicate with you. Then, we will prepare a quote, free of charge, and send it to you for approval along with a proposal and a new customer account form. Upon receipt of your written approval and the completed forms, we will start work and confirm your delivery timeframe.

Each translation is vetted by a senior reviser to ensure quality. This quality assurance step, generally known as revision, is a service we offer over and above basic translation and is included in our pricing. Our translation and terminology tools ensure consistency of style and terminology, whether in a single document or across a number of documents over an extended period of time. Client-specific Translation Memories (TMs) allow for the creation and updating of content repositories that can be used to translate new documents consistently and efficiently. This improves quality, expedites turnaround and decreases costs to our clients.

Many factors come in to play when it comes to rates and pricing. The main one being the word count and the second one is the language combination. Also, the more specialized the subject, the higher the cost.

Rates are contingent upon the field of specialization needed. There are 4 main areas: General/Administrative, Technical, Legal and Medical/Healthcare. A per word price is established considering the factors above. While adaptation and localization are invoiced on an hourly basis. Our quotes include detailed pricing for each service required to complete your assignment.

Should the delivery timeline be urgent, should formatting, proofreading, text extraction or desktop publishing be required, the pricing will reflect these components.

We work with most formats, including Microsoft Office files, Open Office files, Text files and HTML files. For complex or less common file formats, our language technologies team can customize filters and text extraction techniques so your translation or localization project can be a success.

Your quote will contain a project minimum charge. It applies to small requests that fall below a set threshold. The minimum charge is determined by the cost of the tasks required to complete an assignment, including; creating a project in our system, generating a word count report, project management, assigning and performing linguistic tasks (translation, revision, etc.), a final review prior to delivery, and administrative costs.

Translations render the original, source language content into the desired target language(s), without additions and omissions, remaining faithful to it, with linguistic accuracy. In other words, from a linguistic perspective, in a translation the source and the target language content mirror each other.

Adaptation can be characterized as a liberal, creative translation with the focus more on ideas than on linguistic accuracy. In adaptation, the source and the target language content do not mirror each other. The target language content is not intended to mirror the source language content linguistically but to cause the same effect or deliver the same feeling as the source language text, which translation cannot achieve in certain cases, particularly marketing and advertising.

If you need your ideas expressed cleverly in another language, go with adaptation; if you need your documents in another language, ask for translation.

We accept payment by cheque, direct deposit, American Express, Mastercard and Visa. Invoices are payable upon receipt. 

On a transactional basis, we average 1,850 words per day for translation, 7,500 words per day for revision and more than 12,000 words per day for proofreading per language professional. Any text with a word count of 1,850 or less can be delivered within 24 hours upon receipt of your written approval of our quote.

Should you require larger volume commitments per day on a contractual basis, we can take on any size of work and assign a team of dedicated resources to you.
