After a long and fruitful career in the translation industry, which included senior management roles in the private sector and 22 years at the helm of Megalexis, Ann Rutledge has announced her retirement. As the Founder and President of Megalexis, she built one of Canada’s most prestigious translation firms leading its growth organically and through acquisitions while keeping and spreading among all of us her values of graceful humanity, fairness, rigour, discipline, and professionalism. Throughout her career, Ann has touched many more lives than she may acknowledge, and helped maintain and improve the linguistic quality of more public and private client communications than we can count.
We are very fortunate that, upon her retirement, Ann will become the company’s President Emeritus. In that capacity, she will provide her leadership and expertise to our team as we continue Megalexis’ journey of growth and continuous improvement. Please join us in congratulating Ann on her remarkable career in the translation industry, thanking her for her leadership, and wishing her a long, healthy, and happy retirement.
Although we are already missing Ann, we know we will see her often, and that she will devote the same energy and passion to any new, exciting endeavours she may embark on.
As we thank and congratulate Ann Rutledge, our Founder and President Emeritus, on her retirement and outstanding career in translation, we also welcome two trusted Megalexis team members into new leadership roles. Please join us in congratulating Charles Lawton and Lisanne Lawton on their appointments as the company’s President and Vice-President, Finance and HR, respectively.
Charles Lawton has been with Megalexis since 2012. Before his appointment as the company’s new President, he led our sales and marketing team as Vice-President, Business Development. In fact, he has been instrumental in Megalexis’ consistent growth in the last ten years. Prior to joining Megalexis, Charles held several positions of increasing responsibility, including representation for Fido and senior management roles at C.H. Robinson Worldwide. During his more than 25 years of experience in sales and management, Charles has earned recognition from clients, colleagues and suppliers as a top-tier, creative, quality-oriented leader. Charles is also a proud triathlete, with four Ironman competitions under his belt, and he volunteers as president of a mountain-bike-club and as a guide for beginners in the sport.
Lisanne Lawton joined Megalexis twenty years ago. She has worked in and advanced progressively through most functional areas of the company, including Project Management, HR, Vendor Management, Finance, and Client Relations. She was the company’s Director of Administration and Security until her recent appointment as Vice-President, Finance and HR. Lisanne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in English Literature from Concordia University. More recently, she completed the Mini-MBA program at McGill University. Before joining Megalexis, she held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of sports, tourism, and forestry. Lisanne is an avid cyclist and enjoys travelling and yoga.
While Ann has passed the torch on to Charles and Lisanne, other senior management personnel, Michel Frégeau, Julio R. Montero, Marc-André Robitaille, Etienne Brodeur Faucher and Roxana Chiriac, who have been instrumental in our success, will remain with us to carry on the company’s tradition of excellence, offering superior language services to our valued clients.
